Sugar Documentaries and Books
I have been devouring anything I can about sugar and its negative effects. Mostly to convince myself that a year with limited sugar is actually a good idea! This is what I've watched and read:

Sweet Poison, by David Gillespie, was extremely convincing. He got very scientific, but it was good for me to read about the way the body actually handles (and rejects) sugar. It convinced me that sugar is the reason I have too much body fat - since that is exactly what sugar turns to in the body.

Year of No Sugar, by Eve Schaub was a good start - because she referred me to other books and lessons about the effects of sugar. But it was not necessarily a good book to convince me not to eat it. Her family went an entire year without ANY added sugar (with a once a month treat), and they were pretty much miserable without it.

That Sugar Film, a documentary (on Amazon), was excellent! I'd recommend it to anyone. He goes from a healthy, no sugar added, diet - and eats 40g of sugar a day for 2 months. His body basically hates him for it.

Sugar: The Bitter Truth, is a lecture on YouTube by Dr. Robert Lustig. It is extremely scientific, but also very convincing. Sugar is poison to our bodies. I absolutely believe it.

Sugar - the elephant in the kitchen, is a Tedx Talk by Dr. Lustig. Not my favorite Ted Talk, but it added to my knowledge base of the negative effects of sugar.

The Sweet Poison Quit Plan, by David Gillespie - I enjoyed this book, but it definitely reiterated the things I had already read in Sweet Poison. He makes it seem easy to quit sugar, and also like you'll lose a ton of weight and feel amazing. He has recipes at the end - mostly using Dextrose (a form of glucose, which doesn't harm your body the way that fructose does).

Fed Up, a documentary (on Netflix) just made me mad at the food industry. They are making us sick and addicted.
